The Malaysian Polini Motorcycle Grand Prix is held in Sepang, from 31st October to 7th November 2018, about 85 kilometers south of downtown Kuala Lumpur. The circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke, who is the only person to have designed a Formula 1 circuit in the last decade. Circuit design and state-of-the-art facilities have raised the standards of motorsport to the place they deserve. The main grand double-sided grandstand can accommodate 50,000 spectators at a go with a maximum capacity of 130,000 people. The circuit was officially opened in March 1999, during the first Malaysian Grand Prix.
The 5.5-kilometer circuit was designed to allow overtaking at different points in the race, which is lacking in many other circuits: the combination of four slow turns following long straights and the wide asphalt track makes this circuit the favorite of pilots and fans. The other 10 bends are medium and high speed, making the brakes like the drivers suffer.
